Bon-Voyage Tuesday Nights!

This is a tough one for me to write, it’s the end of a chapter in my life. For the past 3 ½ years I’ve been hosting a songwriter night at the Hotel Indigo on West End in Nashville called Tuesday Nights Live! Just one of several hosts throughout the week, my night became well known as the best place to see great talent. I was fortunate to have many amazing songwriters step up to the plate and wow the crowd with their performances. I’ve highlighted just a few of the hundreds that passed through in the attached video.

It was an honor to have amazing songwriters and performers on my stage, including: Susan Gibson of “Wide Open Spaces” Dixie Chicks fame, Jim “Moose” Brown and his Jimmy Buffett hit “It’s Five o’clock Somewhere”, in addition to Jim Mayer’s Buffett hit “I don’t Know and I don’t Care”.

Paris Delane of Sonia Da Da with “Lover, Lover”, (always a crowd pleaser!), John Oates of Hall and Oates with his own brand of the blues, and Danny (Livin on Tulsa Time) Flowers showcasing his amazing guitar playing.

Chaz Sanford and Gary Hannan stopped in a few times to do their respective top hits “Missing You” and “Tequila Makes her Clothes Fall off”.   Bud Lee came around to play “Friends in Low Places”.

James Slater played my very first show on Cinco De Mayo in 2009, singing a song that he penned for Martina McBride, “In My Daughter’s Eyes”, along with his Tim McGraw hit, “That’s why God Made Mexico”.

I feel blessed to have had Damien Horne and his entourage that always consisted of top notch players. You can catch his band, called The Farm, rising rapidly to the top on the Warner Brothers Label. www.thefarmmusic.com

Bekka Bramlett graced us with her presence and sang her Faith Hill hit “One”.

Our own Voyage-Air sister company and co-sponsor of the nights, Savannah Music Group gave us Dave Gibson, Daisy Dern, Bob Saporiti, Jack Williams, Shawn Mayer, Mark Dreyer, Nolan Neal and Rikki Jo Randall.   www.savannahmusicgroup.com

We even began to extend the songwriter shows to appeal to a MUCH younger demographic with our Kid Shows. Jim Mayer of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band came to play with the kids in a show that he calls “Uncle Jim Rocks”, Jon Roniger and Hollie Jett brought us the Pixie Stix, along with their Lolly Pop Girls. Aaron Ratiere didn’t fail to get the kids up dancing, (Check out the video!)

I am proud to have given opportunities for many new acts a chance to play at my shows. The G-Brothers, Boyle Brothers, and Sam & Luke were all kids that came in with their folks and, immediately recognizing the star power, I gave them an opportunity to perform. Anyone that got the chance to hear them knows it wasn’t a mistake. Keep an eye out for these kids because they are all amazing in their own way! www.samandluke.com, www.the4boylebrothers.com, www.thegbrothersmusic.com

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my right hand man and sound engineer extraordinaire, Michael Rohr. As I said every Tuesday night, “I couldn’t do it without him”.

Then there were the awesome bartenders that took great care of everyone, Kristen, Lisa, Cheryl and Courtney. The front desk staff should be acknowledged for their patience and kindness when the music seemed to overtake the crowd and cause quite a ruckus with guests pulling chairs in from the porch, and especially when dancing ensued.

And I will never forget George, who lent his talent on percussion; even playing a trash can, when needed. He truly added a great vibe to the evenings.

I am also forever grateful to my friends, Leslie and Keith Worsham for giving me the opportunity, believing in me, and supporting me throughout the years. They stepped up to the plate when I had high-profile artists in and needed a green room, as you will see in the video. I will truly miss them.

Enjoy the video and the pictures and keep an eye out for me. I’ll be back somewhere soon, its way too much fun to give up!!!
