'Moose' Brown - TelAir - 'Old Time Rock n Roll'

Jim Moose Brown with Bob Seger in St. Paul, MNSix degrees of seperation? How about ONE? We've all been pretty excited about the Rock and Roll Never Forgets tour. Bob Seger's guitarist, Jim "Moose" Brown has been a long time acoustic guitar endorser for Voyage-Air Guitar, but he recently checked out our line of electrics. He fell in love with our electric custom Lake Blue TelAir Guitar. He began playing it at the beginning of the tour and uses it on Katmandu and Old Time Rock and Roll, to name a few.

Professionals like Moose Brown can play any guitar they'd like, every guitar company wants an endorser like Moose. I have to appreciate and respect his philosophy about endorsement deals. If it doesn't suit him, he sends it back and doesn't endorse, if he likes it, he plays it on stage and does his best to let everyone know that it's a cool guitar.

Subsequently, "Moose" plays both the acoustic and electric Voyage-Air during this tour. Here's a great video of 'Old Time Rock n' Roll' click here.

Kid Rock joined Bob on stage for "Rock and Roll Never Forgets". Unfortunately, we can't share that footage at this time. (Warner Brothers controls any and all footage containing Kid Rock's appearances so just keep an eye out!)

I suppose that Kid Rock joining Bob on stage is a natural fit since they are both from Detroit. It's even more special to me as Kid Rock aka Bob Ritchie also has a home in Nashville, just down the street from me. In fact, years ago, before joining Voyage-Air Guitar, I was an art dealer and had the pleasure of working with him to put together an art collection for his home here.

What we CAN share is this footage of "Old Time Rock and Roll". Jim "Moose" Brown is happily accompanying Bob on our guitar.

I'm happy to see that our electric guitar fits in comfortably with the boys!

Jim “Moose” Brown with Bob Seger’s Silver Bullet Band

Jim Moose Brown - Bob Seger Guitarist - Hit Songwriter & Producer plays a VAOM-1C on-stageIt was a few years ago that a fellow called “Swine” introduced me to a fellow called “Moose”.   It struck me that only in Nashville would such names be common place.  Both are award winning songwriters, producers and session players and I suppose that it doesn’t really matter what you call them.  Call them Successful!

Heading out on tour, Jim “Moose” Brown will be rockin’ with our VAOM-1C acoustic guitar on stage with Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.

The tour kicks off on February 27th  in Toledo, Ohio and heads up the East Coast to Canada.

Joe Walsh will join the band in Detroit on April 13th.  Wouldn’t I like to be a fly on the stage at that show!

Check the tour listings for a venue near you and enjoy some “Old Time Rock and Roll”!

Nate Mercereau Kills it at NAMM

Ben Schwier Nate Mercereau Josh LippiWell, the New Year is here and already flying by! January was a blur with all the excitement building up to Winter NAMM in Anaheim. And then, of course, there was NAMM. Four days of being on your feet, staying up late, and getting up early can be brutal, but the people-watching makes it worth it.

We had many talented players in the booth this year giving demonstrations of our guitar and playing a few tunes. A recent Voyage-Air Guitar endorser, Nate Mercereau, took time from his busy schedule to drive from his home in the Bay Area to play in the booth. When he’s not touring with Sheila E. or Jennifer Hudson, Nate performs and records with his own project called The Park.

Nate, along with Josh Lippi and Ben Schwier, gave a stellar acoustic performance consisting of Nate (pictured in the center) playing lead solos while Josh and Ben held down the rhythm. The three of them sounded incredible together! We can’t wait to hear more as we follow the career of this young guitarist.

Henry Nam

Henry Nam & his Voyage-AirTreating the acoustic guitar more like a piano and drum, musician Henry Nam channels his experiences of living and traveling around the world into his music. Born in the Republic of Korea, raised in San Francisco, Germany, and Washington DC, and currently based in Philadelphia, Nam is the product of an international, multicultural upbringing that not only reflects in diverse musical stylings but also in his attitudes about the role of music and the arts as a language able to break down social barriers and connect people across the globe.

His solo project, Sheltered Turtle, materializes this vision through collaborations with a diverse array of artists ranging from Native American flutists to dancers to poets in local art scenes. Nam is currently in studio recording a series of six concept EPs of new and unrecorded material. The first of the EPs is set for an early 2013 release.
