It’s considered a “travel guitar,” and it truly is a remarkably portable instrument; however, that label does it a disservice, because honestly, it’s a damn nice guitar. It just happens to have a nifty set of hinges that allow the neck to fold over on the top, making it far more compact and transport friendly. I love my Telair!

Alright, I cannot repeat what actually came out of my mouth when my friend first showed me his new guitar, but let’s just say it was a combination of disbelief and amazement. Every now and then, a new product comes along that defies explanation and makes us wonder why it hadn’t been done before. Then you stop and think, how on earth did they manage to do that in the first place? The Voyage-Air TelAir is just that. The ultimate travelling guitar, it folds up and fits snugly into a specially designed case for easy transport. Yes, you heard me right – it folds up! Anyone who has ever travelled with their guitar on an airplane knows the fear of letting it go into the hands of the baggage handlers to maybe never return in its original state. Now, the worries can be gone as with the Voyage-Air guitar you can take it on board with you in carry-on luggage. I just bought my own TelAir today… simply amazing!

Well I put my new TelAir thru the paces - it works well, amazingly close to in-tune after breakdown and re-set. the neck scale is the shorter one, like Gibson, so it has some bass authority, but the maple neck and alder body give it the Fender clarity as well, and this reminds me of a Rickenbacker solid body I used to have. Has the noise-cancel only in the middle setting (both pickups) but overall pretty quiet anyway. Quality is very high, I feel much better than a Fender American or high end Ibanez, but has a neck width which is my preference, intonation was also spot-on. The one I have set up to play feels solid and balanced. Overall, good "piano tone". Finish is nice. Overall, a good experience, glad I bought it. Nice tuners too. Fingerboard maple, gloss on front. Sound is more balanced than my vintage tele.
