Bon-Voyage Tuesday Nights!

Written by Voyage Admin on .

This is a tough one for me to write, it’s the end of a chapter in my life. For the past 3 ½ years I’ve been hosting a songwriter night at the Hotel Indigo on West End in Nashville called Tuesday Nights Live! Just one of several hosts throughout the week, my night became well known as the best place to see great talent. I was fortunate to have many amazing songwriters step up to the plate and wow the crowd with their performances. I’ve highlighted just a few of the hundreds that passed through in the attached video.

It was an honor to have amazing songwriters and performers on my stage, including: Susan Gibson of “Wide Open Spaces” Dixie Chicks fame, Jim “Moose” Brown and his Jimmy Buffett hit “It’s Five o’clock Somewhere”, in addition to Jim Mayer’s Buffett hit “I don’t Know and I don’t Care”.

Paris Delane of Sonia Da Da with “Lover, Lover”, (always a crowd pleaser!), John Oates of Hall and Oates with his own brand of the blues, and Danny (Livin on Tulsa Time) Flowers showcasing his amazing guitar playing.

Chaz Sanford and Gary Hannan stopped in a few times to do their respective top hits “Missing You” and “Tequila Makes her Clothes Fall off”.   Bud Lee came around to play “Friends in Low Places”.

James Slater played my very first show on Cinco De Mayo in 2009, singing a song that he penned for Martina McBride, “In My Daughter’s Eyes”, along with his Tim McGraw hit, “That’s why God Made Mexico”.

I feel blessed to have had Damien Horne and his entourage that always consisted of top notch players. You can catch his band, called The Farm, rising rapidly to the top on the Warner Brothers Label. www.thefarmmusic.com

Bekka Bramlett graced us with her presence and sang her Faith Hill hit “One”.

Our own Voyage-Air sister company and co-sponsor of the nights, Savannah Music Group gave us Dave Gibson, Daisy Dern, Bob Saporiti, Jack Williams, Shawn Mayer, Mark Dreyer, Nolan Neal and Rikki Jo Randall.   www.savannahmusicgroup.com

We even began to extend the songwriter shows to appeal to a MUCH younger demographic with our Kid Shows. Jim Mayer of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band came to play with the kids in a show that he calls “Uncle Jim Rocks”, Jon Roniger and Hollie Jett brought us the Pixie Stix, along with their Lolly Pop Girls. Aaron Ratiere didn’t fail to get the kids up dancing, (Check out the video!)

I am proud to have given opportunities for many new acts a chance to play at my shows. The G-Brothers, Boyle Brothers, and Sam & Luke were all kids that came in with their folks and, immediately recognizing the star power, I gave them an opportunity to perform. Anyone that got the chance to hear them knows it wasn’t a mistake. Keep an eye out for these kids because they are all amazing in their own way! www.samandluke.com, www.the4boylebrothers.com, www.thegbrothersmusic.com

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my right hand man and sound engineer extraordinaire, Michael Rohr. As I said every Tuesday night, “I couldn’t do it without him”.

Then there were the awesome bartenders that took great care of everyone, Kristen, Lisa, Cheryl and Courtney. The front desk staff should be acknowledged for their patience and kindness when the music seemed to overtake the crowd and cause quite a ruckus with guests pulling chairs in from the porch, and especially when dancing ensued.

And I will never forget George, who lent his talent on percussion; even playing a trash can, when needed. He truly added a great vibe to the evenings.

I am also forever grateful to my friends, Leslie and Keith Worsham for giving me the opportunity, believing in me, and supporting me throughout the years. They stepped up to the plate when I had high-profile artists in and needed a green room, as you will see in the video. I will truly miss them.

Enjoy the video and the pictures and keep an eye out for me. I’ll be back somewhere soon, its way too much fun to give up!!!

I received my VAOM-1C and boy does it sing!  I am the proud and happy owner of several top-notch Martins: a D35 Johnny Cash, a HD28e, a solid DCPA4R as well as a 1973 00-18. I also had a 2003 D18 which I sold because it wasn't so good. I was expecting the VAOM-1C to sound ok but not more. "Can't have the best of both worlds" I thought. Well, now I do. It is just exquisite, so melodic and yet with a surprising sustain and expressivity. It is a true jewel at a more than decent price! All the Best and THANK YOU!

My wife and I travel a lot and in the past have had issues with taking a guitar with me......they're either too bulky for the overhead compartment, or I have to let the luggage handlers toss around my guitars like they're a bag of beans. I recently purchased one of your VAOM-04 guitars, and I'm totally impressed with the sound and the playability of this instrument. My first choice is my Martins, but since I received the VAOM-O4 I haven't put it down. I would recommend this guitar to any player, even if you don't travel that much. I'm looking forward to my next trip. I may just spend most of the trip playing this guitar.
    Great Job Voyage-Air.

It’s considered a “travel guitar,” and it truly is a remarkably portable instrument; however, that label does it a disservice, because honestly, it’s a damn nice guitar. It just happens to have a nifty set of hinges that allow the neck to fold over on the top, making it far more compact and transport friendly. I love my Telair!

I am pleasantly surprised at the quality and genius behind this amazingly compact, but great sounding guitar!! I work in the movie industry and travel quite a bit, and being able to bring my guitar as a carry-on wherever I go is just what I've been looking for! The overall sound is amazingly rich for its size, and the folding mechanics work like a dream! If you’re wondering if it's worth getting, the answer is a big YES!!

I bought a VAD-04 strictly for travel and light use. The day I bought it I paid a visit to United Airlines. As I was walking up to the counter the clerk said that he had seen these before and that there was no problem taking it on as carry-on. .I think that this is a great value and a nice sounding piece All in all it is a winner in my book. I’ve heard less sound from much more expensive instruments. I may mike it because I think it compares to my Taylor 814ce and Breedlove it surprised me!

I travel a lot, and for years, I schlepped my heavy Goodall Jumbo, always worried about it getting damaged and stolen.  I recently purchased a Voyage Air guitar and love it.  Its light, gets on planes, and sounds terrific. It has made travelling with a guitar a no-brainer.  Even after closing and opening, it stays very close to being in tune. I recommend this guitar to anyone who likes to play wherever they go.
